1. How much do we know about Shakespeare's life? Why? Not much becuase only 2 books made it through the years and the ones who made it are in bad condition

3. What date was he born on? In April 23,1564.

4. Did Shakespeare ever get married? If so, to whom? Yes, Anne Hathaway.

5. Shakespeare established himself as an actor and a playwriter.

6. What day did he die? What is unusual about this date?April 23, 1616. He died the day of his birth

7. What did he leave his wife in his will? The second best bed.

8. What were the two major religions in Elizabethan England? Protestant and Catholic religion

9. Who dictated the favored religion? The priests.

10. Which Monarchs reigned during this time? When? Queen Elizabeth and Marry Queen of Scots. (1558-1603)

11. Which religion did each Monarch believe in? Queen Elizabeth was a protestant and Marry Queen was catholic

12. How did each Monarch treat those who did not follow their favored religion? They could be tortured or exiled

13. Why did Queen Elizabeth I ban all performances of religious plays and stories? To stop violence between the two religions.

14. What was the Elizabethan Period? The age of the Renaissance, of new ideas and new thinking.

15. When was this period? From the 14th to the 17th century was this period.

16. What was the most significant invention of this time and why? The printing press because it was a faster way of spreading ideas.

21. How was Elizabethan class structure maintained? The women study and maintain the house hold and the men worked and have the power.

22. What was the Chain of Being and what did it uphold? Every one has their own position in the chain and you can never go up no matter what you do

23. What is the Rotae Fortuna? A wheel that is from the goddess Fortuna

25. What was the main purpose of schooling? To teach children appropriate behavior for their social class and to make them useful members of society.

26. Why were students taught Latin? it was the language for all Europe

27. What were girls from wealthy families educated in? Reading, writing, keeping accounts, manage a household and state, make salves and practice surgeries.

29. Why were courses in university conducted in Latin? Is because latin is the language of the international affairs.

30. What was the general feeling towards plays during this period in time? didnt have a good reputation like it does now

31. What was the name of the first theatre? Theatre, that was built in 1576.

32. What was the name of them most famous theatre? The Globe 

33. What happened to this theatre? A canons fire consumed the theatre

34. Where did people sit or not sit? Standing in the open pit before the stage. People who paid got to sit.

35. When did they have performances? Why? In daylight because they didnt have artificial light

36. How many women performed in these plays? No women, the men would play the role of the women in some cases.

37. What did the audience do if they didn't like the performance? They would throw food at the actors and they would shout their opinion

38. What does Shakespeare's work provide reference for? Ancient Mythological Figures.

39. What were Shakespeare's histories a tribute to? to Britain and british monarchy

40. What was Shakespeare attempting to do with these tributes? Create stories but with their characteristics and that all of the people that attend the plays would have a character or words.
