Tom Sawyer BLog

The Adventure of Tom Sawyer is about a kid and all the crazy stuff he does. In this picture you can see one of these crazy things and he is showing kids how "fun" it is to paint and makes them pay to paint, which was really a punishment for him. Most of these adventures he does with his frind Huckleberry Finn. The most exciting part of the book is when he meets his enemy Injun Joe. The book takes place in Mississippi and the end of the 1800ds.

I liked the story and its plot. The only thing I did not like was the suthern dialect, it was challenging for me. I would recomend this book to someone that can understand suthern dialect better and maybe grew up in the south and can relate more to the book.

Catcher In the Rye

I read Catcher In the Rye next, written by J. D. Salinger in the 1950s. It talks about a 16 year old´s life who was just expelled from school and is going back home for Christmas. He is very sensitive to little detail and gets stressed at phony things. He has problems deciding what to do with his life and he just hates everything, he also feels so alone. He only feels good around his sister and dead brother.

I loved this book it is one of my favorites now. I just love all the cursing and how it is written so that it sounds so real and that is the whole idea beacause if you read this book the author hates phonies. I think everyone can relate to this book and would like it because every one has gone though some tough moment or change.

American Gods

This a book written by Neil Gaiman in 2001. This book is about a man who is going to be realesed from jail, but is realesed one day early because his wife dies. On his way home he meets this guy who offers him a job called Wednesday, who then realises is Thor. Thor gives him a job to be his "helper" and do every thing he wants. In his journey he starts seing his dead wife who he then realizes had been cheated on him. What type of missions will Thor have? what will happen with his wife?

I would recomend this book because people are used to reading greek myths, but this book brings a whole new experience with norse mythology. The only thing is that there are sexual parts that are very descriptive.

9 Stories

I chose the 9 Short Stories by J.D. Salinger this quarter. I liked all of these stories, obviously some more than other, bit in general in was a great collection. Having read another book by the same author I could tell some similarities in the characters or same topics. I would recommend this collection to anyone becuase the topics are very different so you find one that is your taste. The only problem I could see for other readers is how strong some of these stories are.

Slaughter House Five
